WHY THE RELIGIOUS IDEA IS LINKED TO UAPs?

WARNING: This article does not condone the existence of religious sects created around the UAP. It only tries to give an explanation about why they emerge.

Let me start by saying that the unknown by itself, exerts a special attraction, is something numinous, mysterious.
 

I concur with Dr. Jacques Vallée that throughout all the human history, there have been extraordinary events seen in the sky most of which at the time had no rational explanation. People were amazed, and found in their religious faith a refuge or an acceptable explanation.

But I do not go so far as to think that those phenomena couldn’t even be explained today, or that they belong to a parallel universe that interacted with ours in the past and does it today; and that they are of the same nature or belong to the same realm or have the same origin.

That is undoubtedly an interesting hypothesis, very attractive and persuasive. But it has to be demonstrated, and that has not happened and probably never will happen.

Taking the date of June 24, 1947 as the beginning of the “flying saucers” era, the time when this subject started to be scientifically investigated and studied, it is nevertheless interesting that there is an underlying link with religion and faith.

A lot of people tend to think that there are aliens visiting Earth, or that they have been here for centuries, even that they are our ancestors or creators.

When people that adhere tightly to rationality, right thinking, and deplore superstition, react and reject this religious approach, and moreover, they fight against the existence of religious sects that have been created under the premise that we have “cosmic brothers”, all mixed with faith in Jesus, etc. it is good to throw a fresh look at the whole subject.

You will agree with me that it is quite strange that a high ranking military would mention twice in a press conference, “the Bible times”, in reference to the UAP subject. 

But that was precisely what Major General John A. Samford, then nothing less that USAF Director of Intelligence, did.

On his famous press conference given in the Room 3E-869 at the Pentagon, on July 19, 1952, at 4:00PM he said:  “We know that reports of this kind go back to Biblical times”. And again: “There is more man-made activity in the air now than there was, certainly, in the Biblical times…”

The obvious question is: why that mentions and comparison to the “Biblical times”? Is it there a link? And if so, what kind of link? Is it fair to establish a link?

Vallée would say yes, there is a link, the link of a non-human conscience that manipulates time and space, that has been present throughout the history, and that seems to mask itself to adapt to different cultures, with the purpose to control the human beings.

In a totally different way and vision, Erich Von Däniken and Zecharia Sitchin point to “ancient astronauts” who started religions in the world with the clear purpose of domination.

But why people nowadays are so open to those approaches that deal with faith?

Just let’s consider the Western culture only. Within the Jewish-Christian realm Exodus 19:20 tells us that: “When the Lord descended upon Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain, the Lord summoned Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up”.  

And Jesus taught a prayer to his disciples (Matthew 5:9-10)  that begins saying: “Our Father, who art in heaven…Thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven”.

These are the teachings that are taught to children in the Catechesis and the Sunday Schools.

Therefore, it is not strange that a considerable part of humanity thinks that we have a main ancestor “in heaven”, that we are creatures of that ancestor, that angels are doers of the will of this Father, and that that they descend and ascend to heaven. 

And this is extremely important if we want to consider objectively why so many people adhere to the idea of beings coming from the Space, their connection with us, a possible purpose or plan, etc.

I personally sustain that the UAP subject should and must be considered through science and by scientists. That there is enough room to do so, and that it is the only valid way to get to know something about different phenomena that are put together under the classification of Unusual Aerial Phenomena.

This has already allowed discovering some extraordinary characteristics of plasma, for instance.

On the other hand, people declare properly that they “believe in UFOs”, in the sense of extraterrestrial vehicles. For them it is not a matter of discussion, investigation, study and conclusion. They just believe, and that is all what they feel they have to do. 

The danger of this situation is that their belief most of the time is based on false information, on the clear marks of a job of psychological operation, and/or the words of a charlatan.

Therefore, their original Jewish-Christian faith helps them very easily to adapt it to a technologically developed society, and the UAPs as a representation of a powerful and superior technology are accepted without reservations.

From my viewpoint-- that is what is happening currently.

¿POR QUÉ LA IDEA RELIGIOSA SE VINCULA A LOS F.A.I.?

ADVERTENCIA: Este artículo no justifica la existencia de sectas religiosas creadas en torno a los UAP. Sólo intenta dar una explicación de por qué surgen.

Permítaseme comenzar diciendo que lo desconocido por sí mismo, ejerce una especial atracción, es algo numinoso, misterioso.

Concuerdo con el Dr. Jacques Vallée que a través de toda la historia humana, han ocurrido acontecimientos extraordinarios vistos en el cielo para la mayoría de los cuales en su tiempo no había una explicación racional. La gente estaba maravillada, y encontraba en su fe religiosa un refugio o una explicación aceptable.

Pero no voy tan lejos como para pensar que esos fenómenos no pueden aún ser explicados en la actualidad, o que pertenecen a un universo paralelo que interactuó con el nuestro en el pasado y lo hace hoy; y que son de la misma naturaleza y pertenecen al mismo ámbito o tienen el mismo origen.

Esta es sin duda una hipótesis interesante, muy atractiva y persuasiva. Pero no ha sido demostrada, y eso no ha sucedido y probablemente nunca ocurra.

Tomando la fecha del 24 de Junio de 1947 como el comienzo de la era de los “platillos volantes”, el tiempo en que este tema comenzó a ser científicamente investigado y estudiado, es no obstante interesante que haya un vínculo subyacente con la  religión y la fe.

Gran cantidad de personas tiende a pensar que hay alienígenas visitando la Tierra, o que han estado aquí por siglos, aún, que son nuestros antepasados o creadores.

Cuando personas que adhieren estrechamente a la racionalidad, al pensamiento correcto y deploran la superstición, reaccionan y rechazan este enfoque religioso, y más aún,  luchan contra la existencia de sectas religiosas que se han creado bajo la premisa de que tenemos “hermanos del cosmos”, todo mezclado con la fe en Jesús, etc. es bueno echar una nueva mirada a todo el asunto.

Estarán de acuerdo conmigo en que es muy extraño que un militar de alto rango mencione dos veces en una conferencia de prensa a “los tiempos bíblicos” en referencia al tema FAI.

Pero eso fue precisamente lo que hizo el General de División John A. Samford, entonces nada menos que el Director de Inteligencia de la Fuerza Aérea de los Estados Unidos de América.

En su famosa conferencia de prensa dada en la sala 3E-869 del Pentágono, el 19 de Julio de 1952, a las 4:00PM dijo: “Sabemos que denuncias de este tipo datan de los tiempos bíblicos.” Y nuevamente: “Hay mucho más actividad humana en el aire ahora de la que había, ciertamente, en los tiempos bíblicos…”

La pregunta obvia es: ¿por qué esas menciones y comparación con “los tiempos bíblicos”? ¿Existe un vínculo? Y si es así, ¿qué tipo de vínculo?, ¿es correcto establecer un vínculo?

Vallée diría que sí, que hay un vínculo, el vínculo de una consciencia no-humana que manipula el tiempo y el espacio, que ha estado presente a través de la historia, y que parece enmascararse para adaptarse a diferentes culturas, con el propósito de controlar a los seres humanos.

En una forma y visión totalmente diferente, Erich Von Däniken y Zecharia Sitchin apuntan hacia “antiguos astronautas” que iniciaron religiones en el mundo con el claro propósito de dominación.

Pero ¿por qué las personas hoy día están tan abiertas a esos enfoques que se vinculan con la fe?

Consideremos simplemente la cultura Occidental solamente. Dentro del ámbito judeo-cristiano, Éxodo19:20 nos dice que “Cuando el Señor descendió sobre el Monte Sinaí, sobre la cumbre del monte, el Señor llamó a Moisés a la cumbre del monte, y Moisés subió.”

Y Jesús enseño una oración a sus discípulos (Mateo 5:9-10) que comienza diciendo: “Padre Nuestro que estás en los cielos……hágase tu voluntad así en la Tierra como en el cielo.”

Estas son las enseñanzas que se imparten a los niños en la Catequesis y en las Escuelas Dominicales.

Por lo tanto, no es extraño que una considerable parte de la humanidad piense que tenemos un principal antepasado “en el cielo”, que somos criaturas de ese antepasado, que los ángeles son hacedores de la voluntad de su Padre, y que ellos descienden y ascienden al cielo.

Y esto es extremadamente importante si queremos considerar objetivamente por qué tantas personas adhieren a la idea de seres procedentes del Espacio, su conexión con nosotros, un posible propósito o plan, etc.

Personalmente sostengo que el tema FAI debería y tiene que ser considerado mediante la ciencia y por científicos. Que hay suficiente espacio para hacer eso, y que es la única forma válida de llegar a conocer algo acerca de diferentes fenómenos que son puestos todos juntos bajo la clasificación de Fenómenos Aéreos Inusuales.

Esto ya ha posibilitado descubrir algunas extraordinarias características del plasma, por ejemplo.

Por otro lado, las personas declaran adecuadamente que ellas “creen en los OVNIs” en el sentido de vehículos extraterrestres. Para ellas no es una cuestión de discusión, investigación, estudio y conclusión. Simplemente creen, y eso es todo lo que sienten que tienen que hacer.

El peligro de esta situación es que su creencia la mayoría de las veces está basada en falsa información, en claras indicaciones de un trabajo de operación psicológica, y/o en las palabras de un charlatán.

Por lo tanto, su original fe judeo-cristiana les ayuda muy fácilmente a adaptarla a una sociedad tecnológicamente desarrollada, y los FAI como una representación de una tecnología poderosa y superior son aceptados sin ninguna reserva.

Desde mi punto de vista, eso es lo que está ocurriendo actualmente.
